Kavu Baranof Jacket
Arriving for autumn/winter ‘19 the Baranof Jacket is a throwback style from Kavu and features a panelled ‘ugly’ colourway design across its 10oz 100% cotton canvas shell. Treated with an enzyme stone wash for a soft, worn-in feel the outer is split between shades of dark teal, navy, brown and cream. The body and sleeves are lined with 100% polyester fleece and a full length zip fastens the front, with a protective fabric flap at the top for comfort against the chin. On either side of the waist two slanted entrance pockets have been added with red and purple patterned webbing decoration with light cream coloured panels alongside. The hem of the body is straight and the sleeve cuffs can be adjusted using snap fastenings. A small woven Kavu label has been added onto the chest for signature branding.
Following their ethos of ‘enjoy because fun has no season’ Kavu is based in Seattle, where it was founded by Barry Barr in 1993. Originally selling the Strap Cap out of the back of his car, the brand now has an extensive library of products designed to be worn whilst exploring the great outdoors, inspired by feelings of freedom and adventure. Supporting this, Kavu are conscious of their social and environmental responsibilities and closely monitor their manufacturing system.
